About Us

The Department of Botany was started in 2020 with the Undergraduate programme intake of 40 students and affiliated to Periyar University, Salem . The Department botany provides excellent infrastructure with well furnished class rooms and laboratory facility . Education tour and industrial visit were arranged . Moral based teaching - learning environment.

Vision

The Department of botany provides independent experiential learning in traditional fields of Plant Sciences . The Department of Botany aspires to equip students with conceptual education and offer knowledge of experimental tools . The Department of botany makes responsible learners and researchers. Our Department endeavors to promote active learners, acknowledging the diverse goals and backgrounds of students . Our Department is committed to achieving excellence in dissemination and creation of knowledge to address modern day challenges in plant and molecular biology.

Mission
  • To establish and maintain an environment for both students and faculty to explore the understanding of Plant Sciences.
  • To develop the students into highly skilled Botanists.
  • To inculcate thorough learning in Plant Sciences.
  • Our research mission of the Botany programs is to generate new knowledge and thereby addressing problems in the areas of plant biology.
  • We are planned to teaching ethical behavior in experimental design and practice to all of our students.
Aim of the department
  • The Department of Botany offers a basic understanding of Plant Science and the scientific method.
  • Encouraging Botany outreach to the local community.
  • Learning about and practicing the safe and responsible application of medicinal plants.
